Platform points
Platform points are a single, flexible way we reward real activity on Book Jersey Shore. They are internal product-benefit entries that can power eligible platform perks and services as we add them. Points are tied to your account, not to any one listing.
How you earn
- Founding listing grant — the first 500 eligible listings receive Pro automatically. Listings 1–100 get 3 years, listings 101–250 get 2 years, and listings 251–500 get 1 year.
- Milestones — you earn points when you verify your email, verify your ID, publish your first listing, and sign your first contract with a guest. Publishing your first eligible listing currently earns 50 platform points.
- Referrals — share your referral link. When a referred host publishes their first eligible listing, you earn 100 platform points and the new host earns 50 points too. Other eligible milestones may add more. If you share a link and may earn points, disclose that clearly when you post or send it.
How you spend
Open Platform points from your dashboard to see your balance and history. Self-serve tier redemption is off during the founding launch; founding listings claim Pro automatically in the create listing flow. Future perks such as featured placement or extra platform services can appear in the catalog later.
Points earned by milestones and referrals don't expire under the current policy. Grant points (like the founding listing grant) have an expiration date, which you'll see next to each row in your points history.
Why abstract points
Platform points can only be used for eligible platform perks when redemption is available. They are not transferable and do not apply to host-guest payment obligations. We use abstract points deliberately — it lets us keep the system simple and add new platform services over time. If a feature costs 10 points today and we decide it should cost 15 tomorrow, we can adjust the price without treating points as an account balance.
