Acceptable Use Policy

1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all users of the Book Jersey Shore platform (the "Platform") and is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. A violation of this AUP constitutes a breach of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Community Standards
The Platform is built on trust between Hosts and Guests. All users are expected to:
- Communicate honestly and respectfully with other users.
- Provide accurate information in listings, profiles, bookings, and contracts.
- Honor commitments made through the Platform, including signed rental agreements.
- Respect the property, privacy, and personal boundaries of other users.
- Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
3. Fair Housing
Hosts may not discriminate against guests on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law, in accordance with the Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 3601 et seq.) and applicable state and local fair housing laws. Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring that their listing practices, guest screening, and rental decisions comply with all fair housing requirements.
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on the Platform:
- Fraud and misrepresentation: Creating fake listings, using false identities, submitting fraudulent booking requests, or misrepresenting property conditions.
- Harassment and threats: Threatening, intimidating, bullying, stalking, or harassing any user through the Platform or in connection with a booking.
- Discrimination: Refusing bookings, altering terms, or providing inferior accommodations based on protected characteristics.
- Illegal activity: Using the Platform to facilitate any activity that violates local, state, or federal law, including but not limited to drug trafficking, human trafficking, or money laundering.
- Property misuse: Using a rented property for purposes not authorized in the rental agreement, including unauthorized commercial activities, events exceeding occupancy limits, or illegal conduct.
- Intellectual property infringement: Uploading photos, descriptions, or content that you do not own or have the right to use.
- Data misuse: Collecting, storing, or using other users' personal information for purposes unrelated to a legitimate booking or rental transaction.
- Platform manipulation: Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Platform, create accounts, or manipulate listings, reviews, or search results.
5. Enforcement
The Company reserves the right to investigate, suspend, or terminate any account and remove any content that violates this AUP, in its sole and absolute discretion, with or without notice. The Company is not obligated to monitor User Content but reserves the right to do so at any time.
Enforcement actions may include, without limitation: content removal, account warnings, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate.
6. Reporting Violations
If you believe a user has violated this AUP, please report it to support@bookjerseyshore.com with as much detail as possible, including relevant listing URLs, screenshots, and a description of the violation. Good-faith reports will not result in adverse action against the reporter.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
