Transparency and platform boundaries

Airbnb's AirCover and Vrbo's Book With Confidence Guarantee are marketplace programs governed by platform policies, claims processes, and eligibility criteria. Book Jersey Shore uses a narrower facilitator model centered on written terms, recorded signing events, and direct payment arrangements between hosts and guests.

What the platform records and supports

• Plain-language contracts with recorded electronic-signature consent and signing events.
• In-app signing record for registered booking parties: submitted names and sources, disclosure version plus server timestamp/IP address/user-agent for the consent request, and separate finalized-field timestamps and capture methods. See how signing works →
• Host-defined terms for cancellations, deposits, damages, and payment schedules can be written into the contract.
• Messaging supports direct communication between guest and host about the stay.

What the platform does not claim

• No "guarantee" that overrides your contract — we're a facilitator, not a party to it.
• No promise to force refunds or collect damages. The platform does not decide the legal effect of an agreement or the outcome of a dispute.
• No control over your funds. We never escrow, freeze, or redirect payouts.
• The FAQ distinguishes current v1 functionality from planned features.

Why these boundaries matter

Stated boundaries help set expectations. Instead of promising how a mediator, court, bank, or other decision-maker will treat an agreement, we preserve the completed document, its factual execution certificate, and the recorded signing events. Registered booking parties can review the available events in the app. After final artifact generation succeeds, they can access the current PDF there. For an eligible external signer who has not claimed an account, the platform starts an email delivery attempt containing a time-limited read-only link; provider acceptance and inbox delivery are not guaranteed. Those materials document the workflow; they do not guarantee a dispute outcome.
